Advent at Court Street
A time of Clebration
Advent means “coming,” from the Latin word adventus, and demarks a season of expectantly preparing to celebrate the first coming of Jesus, while eagerly awaiting His second coming to establish His kingdom, even as we celebrate His presence among us through the promised Holy Spirit.
What is Advent?
The season of Advent, which comes from the Latin word adventus meaning "coming" or "visit," begins four Sundays before Christmas and ends on Christmas Eve. Advent is the beginning of the church year for Christians. During Advent, we prepare for and anticipate the coming of Christ.
How does Court Street Celebrate?
Court Street has been known for its Advent Celebrations for many years. From a beautifully decorated sanctuary to the weekly wreath lighting, this is a wonderful time to visit our church. This celebration includes five Sunday service and a Christmas Eve Service.
